ONT add time OLT showing one error “The number of ONT Ethernet ports has reached the maximum of the PON port”. This issue only occurred when add ONT at PON port 0/1/2 , others PON port is normal when we add ONT.

Below are the example error :

If anybody get “Failure: The Total Number of ONTs Is Beyond the System Limitation” message for ONT configure time from MA5608T MCUD/MCUD1 Board OLT then you need to upgrade OLT Firmware version, because number of connected ONTs depends on the OLT service boards & Control board Firmware Version. Also Different boards have different capabilities.

Like For MA5608T OLT (MCUD/MCUD1 Board):

• Before the V800R015C10 version supports: 2048 ONT
• V800R015C10 and later version supports : 4096 ONT

Board Status and Description Huawei OLT

Today I will discuss about Huawei OLT Board Status and Description, When New OLT power on, new board add or if reboot OLT then we see many board status in OLT like Failed, Auto_find, Auto_load, Config, or Normal etc state.

We can see OLT board status by “display board 0″ or below command format.

display board frameid [ frameid/slotid ]

This command is used to query the information about the boards in an entire subrack or the details of a specified board. To query the slot ID, name, status, daughter board information, port information, and online/offline state of the board after performing an operation on the board, run this command.

Usage Guidelines

  • You can query the board status to check whether the current status of the board is normal. The board states are as follows.

NormalThe board is in the normal state.No need to proceed.
Auto_loadThe board is in the automatic loading state. When a service board is inserted in a service slot, the board reports its version information to the system. If the version of the board software is different from that stored in the flash memory of the control board, the system automatically loads the software from the flash memory to the board.No need to proceed.
Auto_findThe board in the auto-find state.The board can be used only after you run the board confirm command to confirm the board.
ConfigThe board enters the configuration state after it is confirmed.No need to proceed.
FailedThe board is in the failed state.The fault needs to be rectified.

The causes for the board failure are as follows:                       
•An offline board is added. In this case, insert a board of the same type into the corresponding slot. Several minutes later, check whether the board is in the normal state.
•Loading the board program fails. In this case, run the display io-packetfile command to check whether the corresponding software package of the board is loaded to the flash memory of the control board. If the corresponding software package is not loaded, load the corresponding board software.

If the fault persists after the preceding operations, contact Huawei for technical support.
MismatchThe board is in the type mismatch state.You need to run the board delete command to delete the type of the board in the slot. Then, the system will automatically recognize the board type.
HTempShutdownThe board is in the high-temperature shutdown state.No need to proceed. This is an energy-saving feature. The board is automatically shut down if the board temperature exceeds the threshold. By default, the board recovers 15 minutes later.
ManualShutdownThe board is in the manual shutdown state.

This is an energy-saving feature. After you run the board power-off command to power off the idle board, the board status is displayed as ManualShutdown.
If you need to change the shutdown state, you can run the board power-on command to power on the board.
ESavingShutdownIndicates that the board is in the energy-saving shutdown state.

This is an energy-saving feature. The board enters the energy-saving shutdown state in the following case:
If you run the system energy-saving mode deep command to set the energy-saving mode to the deep energy-saving mode, online and normal service boards that are not configured with any service will be powered off after 15 minutes, and then the boards enter the energy-saving shutdown state.
No action is required for this state. Boards that are not configured with any service are automatically powered off because the deep energy-saving mode or optimal energy-saving mode is applied to these boards. If you configure service data for these boards or modify the energy-saving mode to the basic energy-saving mode or standard energy-saving mode, the board will be automatically powered on after a period of time.
ProhibitedThe board is in the prohibited state. Before finding, diagnosing, and rectifying a fault of the faulty board, run the board prohibit command to prohibit the board. Then the board status is displayed as Prohibited.You can run the undo board prohibit command to un-prohibit the

Huawei OLT by default not support 3rd-party other brand ONT. If anybody configure other brand 3rd-party ONT in Huawei OLT. If ONT status shows offline. Also reason of offline: Insufficient ONT interoperability access license. Then you need to unlock your Huawei OLT. After OLT unlock its release lock & ONT status shows online.

Huawei ONT Wi-Fi Configure by U2000 NMS

Huawei ONT Wi-Fi Configure by U2000

This section describes how Huawei ONT Wi-Fi Configure through NMS (U2000).

Prerequisites

  • The user has the operator authority or higher to configure ONT Wi-Fi.
  • The OLT and the NMS communicate with each other properly.
  • NMS is able to discover an online ONT and Internet access services are configured.

ONT Wi-Fi Configure Procedure

  1. In the Main Topology, double-click the required OLT in the Physical Root navigation tree; or right-click the required OLT and choose NE Explorer from the shortcut menu.
  2. Choose GPON > GPON Management from the navigation tree.
  3. On the GPON ONU tab page, set the filter criteria or click to display the GPON ONUs.
  4. Select an ONT in the normal state, right-click the ONT, and choose maintain ONT to configure ONT Wi-Fi remotely. Like follow below picture.
  5. First on the navigation tree wifi configuration, click Query query information about SSIDs created for this ONT. Then Select a SSID and query information about Configuration in Detail, Advance Configuration, Authentication Configuration tab as per below picture.

Configuration in detail:

  1. Select a specified SSID, then modify corresponding configuration items, and finally click Config to the device.
  2. Parameter Description: SSID name Indicates the name of a wireless network. It is used to distinguish different wireless networks. It consists of a maximum of 32 characters, excluding Tab characters. Enable SSID Indicates whether to activate a connection. Associated Device Nubmer Specifies the number of connected wireless terminals. Range: 1-32. Broadcast SSID Enables or disables the SSID broadcast function.
  3. If the option box is selected, it indicates that the SSID broadcast function is enabled. ONT periodically broadcasts its SSID.
  4. If the option box is not selected, it indicates that the SSID broadcast function is disabled. The SSID is hidden, and wireless terminals cannot find this wireless network. The SSID can be obtained only by sending a request.WMM Enable Enables or disables multimedia.

Advance Configuration:

Select a specified SSID, modify corresponding configuration items, and click Config to the device.

Parameter Description: Transmitting Power Indicates the Tx power of wireless signals. Options: 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%. A larger value indicates better coverage of wireless signals. Regulatory Domain Indicates the country code of a wireless network. Channel Indicates the channel of a wireless network. The channel varies with the value of region. Channel Width Indicates the length of a wireless frequency band. Options: auto 20/40 MHz, 20 MHz, and 40 MHz. Mode Indicates the supported wireless network mode. Options: 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11b/g, or 802.11b/g/n.

Authentication Configuration:

Select a specified SSID, modify corresponding configuration items, and click Config to the device.

Parameter Description: Authentication Mode Indicates the authentication mode for a wireless terminal to request access to a wireless network. Options: Open, Shared, WPA Pre-Shared Key, WPA2 Pre-Shared Key, WPA/WPA2 Pre-Shared Key, WPA Enterprise, WPA2 Enterprise, and WPA/WPA2 Enterprise. The default value is Open, which indicates that a wireless terminal can access the network without authentication. Encryption Mode Indicates the encryption mode for a wireless terminal to request access to a wireless network. The encryption mode and encryption parameters vary with the authentication mode.

If the authentication mode is set to Open, the encryption mode can be set to None or WEP.

If authentication mode set to Shared, the encryption is WEP.

Authentication mode is set to WPA Pre-Shared Key, WPA2 Pre-Shared Key, WPA/WPA2 Pre-Shared Key, WPA Enterprise, WPA2 Enterprise, or WPA/WPA2 Enterprise, the encryption mode can be set to AES, TKIP, or TKIP&AES.

  • NOTE:
    • NMS do not support to query and reset password ONT Wi-Fi.
    • U2000 NMS don’t support to new add and delete SSID.
    • For Wi-Fi password change through the NMS, the carrir needs to formulate management rights with end uers.
